Male Brazilian or Manzilian

Male waxing, including Brazilians for men, has become more and more popular and a more requested service!

Not everyone is trained or knowledgeable on how to perform a safe male Brazilian wax, so I decided to blog about this service!

........First of all.......what does the Brazilian wax mean?.........
So this sign says it all!  It is a preference really.  Everyone is different and wants different things, so make sure you are asking your client and knowing what they want.  Some want a strip of hair left on top, a shape, or nothing at all.

For the male Brazilian wax service, you have to use HARD WAX!  You can use soft wax/strip wax on the butt cheeks, but for the crack and front side, you must use HARD WAX!

Cirepil is a wonderful cheaper hard wax.  As you can see it comes in beads and is easy to fill up or refill your wax pot as needed.  Hard wax is to be a thicker and cooler temperature than soft wax.  If your hard wax is running off your applicator, then it is WAY too hot to apply!

So the wax stick/applicator in the second image is soft wax because of the consistency.  It is running right off and drips very quickly!

If you have not been to a training seminar/class on Brazilian waxing, there are DVD's you can purchase on-line to help you perform a safe Brazilian wax.
Satin Smooth is another great wax that comes in a variety of aromas in both hard and soft wax.  Satin Smooth is also a very inexpensive, but effective wax.

Male waxing is not always offered, so do your research ahead of time so you know that you can get your services done.  Also, find out how long the service provider has been performing male Brazilian waxing services.

As safety is extremely important when waxing anyone, making sure that you are safely cleaning the freshly waxed area is very important too.  Here are a few inexpensive antiseptic (natural antibacterial) choices to use on clients after waxing and for home use as well.

I use Aveda's oils because they are safe to use directly on the skin.  Tea Tree is my favorite go to for acne and after waxing care to help prevent bacteria from getting into the pores and follicles.

If you or your client do not care for the Tea Tree aroma, Lavender oil is another option that is a natural antiseptic.

Sandalwood is another option to use after waxing or extractions of blemishes.  Sandalwood is awesome because not only is it a natural antiseptic, it also has anti-inflammatory properties!  So whether you have done extractions or waxing/tweezing....you or your client might be a little red and swollen.  Why not use a little Sandalwood oil on them to help calm everything down?

Hope this was helpful for people!  Remember, get educated first before attempting to wax someone or yourself.  It's much more involved and harder than it looks!

  2. Hi. Nice blog. I'm a male who recently tried a brazilian, and I must say that I am now hooked. It's great. Didn't hurt that much at all. I am in Texas and my aesthetician recommended sugaring for males. I love it. All I have now is a small patch above the penis. It looks real neat, and feels great. Try it guys! Take 2 Advil before your appointment; it won't hurt much, and will be more comfortable with each successive visit.
